The American Heart Association, Hitachi Vantara, and BurstIQ announced jointly today that Lifemesh Corp is one of four finalists in the “American Heart Association COVID-19 Data Challenge” for their submission of “Segmentation of socio-economic factors and COVID-19 infection rates“. The challenge focusses on understanding the relationships between COVID-19 and other health conditions, health disparities and social determinants of health that may bring a higher burden of illness or mortality.
The challenge was judged by a panel of 29 U.S.-based data science and public health experts. The three other finalists are from the University of Michigan, Eastern Virginia Medical School, and the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
“We are delighted to be a part of such an important project that includes such esteemed colleagues,” said Joshua Fischburg, CEO of Lifemesh Corp. “The fact that we were able to derive the entirety of these insights from our Augmented Care Effectiveness (ACE) platform integrated with the American Heart Association’s Precision Medicine Platform, driven by Hitachi Ventara and BurstIQ is indeed a big win.”
“These researchers are enabling us to better understand the disproportionate burden COVID-19 is having on underserved and vulnerable communities,” said Jennifer Hall, Ph.D., chief of data science and co-director of the Institute for Precision Cardiovascular Medicine for the American Heart Association.
Built upon substantial research including the National Science Foundation’s Innovation Corps program and Newchip Accelerator, Lifemesh drives the shift from episodic to preventive and proactive care. The Lifemesh analytics platform is designed for Managed Care Organizations, Home Health Agencies, Alternative Medical Clinics, and Physician Groups, and provides critical insights to health stakeholders and patients alike. Substantial resources provided through membership in the AWS Activate! and Amazon Partner Network programs give Lifemesh a strategic advantage.
